ARTISTRY® Skin Analyser Connectivity and Wi-Fi issues
Why can’t I use Bluetooth to connect to my device?
We use Wi-Fi in the ARTISTRY® Skin Analyzer device to:
1. Maximise bandwidth, i.e transfer speed
2. Compatibility, especially for non-mobile usage
3. Increased security and range of transfer
When attempting to download the App via my home Wi-Fi or a public Wi-Fi, the connection halts or times out; If you are using a public Wi-Fi to download the App, for example when in a Amway® Business Centre, the process might be slow as the App is around 100MB. When in a Business Centre with slow connectivity, additional time might be required to complete the download and in some cases mobile data might be preferred.
The device and App starts but I’m getting an alert advising me to ‘Check the network connection’?
To activate your device, follow the steps in the user manual. Please check that you are connected to your ARTISTRY Skin Analyzer device via Wi-Fi if you are starting an analysis. You can check the connection status on the App in the bottom left corner. If your device is connected, the Wi-Fi indicator will be highlighted. You can also check the connection status and Wi-Fi name on your device i.e tablet, mobile phone or desktop to ensure that you are connected to the ARTISTRY Skin Analyzer. In addition, check your battery levels as a low charge could affect the time the device is active. The device should be manually switched off when not in use. When you are not using your device please use the docking station provided at all times. Should you still have connectivity issues, ensure the device’s Wi-Fi password is entered correctly, the password is located on the back and under the battery cover. Furthermore, when in a Business Centre, more than one device might appear, hence ensure that you connect to your device as per the name listed
on the back of the battery cover (starting with ASL).
Why do I need to connect and re-connect to my (home) Wi-Fi and ARTISTRY Skin Analyzer Device?
Unlike a Wi-Fi connection while at home, shopping centre or hotel when you can send emails or
browse the internet, the Wi-Fi connection to your ARTISTRY Skin Analyzer will override any active
internet connections you might have, including mobile connections. This means you will no longer be connected to the internet while conducting a skin analysis, as the connection is only between your mobile device or desktop, and the ARTISTRY Skin Analyzer.
Should you choose to send an email to your customer with his/her result, you would need to disconnect the Wi-Fi connection of the ARTISTRY Skin Analyzer and use your mobile data, or your home/business Wi-Fi network.
